KNOW YOUR COVERAGE

Clarity before the keys.

Yamo does not currently provide insurance. Hosts and drivers must ensure appropriate insurance applies to the vehicle and the intended rental or chauffeur use.

Your own insurance needs to fit the journey.

Do not assume an ordinary personal motor policy covers renting a vehicle to another person or a paid chauffeur arrangement. Confirm the intended use, permitted drivers, exclusions and applicable terms directly with your insurer before proceeding.

Submitting documents to Yamo does not create coverage, change a policy or guarantee that an insurer will accept a claim. Rental eligibility and coverage requirements must be satisfied before a vehicle is made available.

Insurance providers: help shape what comes next.

We welcome conversations with insurance providers interested in supporting a responsible Caribbean-focused vehicle rental marketplace. No insurance partnership or Yamo protection plan is currently offered here.

Questions about your rental?

Review your insurer’s documents and seek confirmation from the provider. Yamo’s support process can help with platform requirements, but cannot promise insurance coverage.

Important: personal insurance may not cover rentals

A host’s ordinary private vehicle policy should never be assumed to cover paid peer-to-peer rental or chauffeur hire. Coverage must explicitly permit the actual business use, authorised drivers, territory, rental period and intended vehicle activity. Renters must also confirm the protection applicable to them.

Yamo currently provides no insurance, damage protection plan, or coverage guarantee. Insurance arrangements, claims responsibility and local requirements must be resolved before Yamo permits live rentals in a market.
